About the Club

Musselburgh and District Athletic Club is a community club open to adult runners and children who want to train and compete in athletics events. We welcome new members regardless of age or ability.  Our Jog Scotland group welcomes beginners and people who are aiming to get back into running.  Junior members have the opportunity to take part in a range of athletics events – jumps, sprints, hurdles, distance running and throws. The club is affiliated and accredited by Scottish Athletics.

You don’t have to live in Musselburgh to join the club.  We welcome new members from other parts of East Lothian and from Edinburgh.

Membership of the Club runs from 1 April each year.  You can join half-way through the year for half-yearly rates.  We are happy for you to join in the Club’s activities for an introductory session to see if they are for you.  However, for subsequent sessions Juniors need to pay the weekly subs and after 3 weeks you must become a member of the Club and pay the annual membership fee.

The benefits of joining the Club include:

  • Meet new people and find new running friends
  • Enjoy representing the Club at races and competitions
  • Gain access to specialist coaching
  • Enjoy Club social events
  • Receive regular information updates via newsletters and social media
  • Discounts at specialist sports shops and FASIC sports injuries clinics
  • Lots of ways to get involved and help the Club to achieve its aims

If you wish to join the club you can do so online by following this link which will take you to the subs online secure site where you can safely fill in your membership details and make a secure payment.

The Club was re-launched in October 1999, building on an honourable history of club athletics in Musselburgh from the launching of ‘Lewisvale Spartans’ in 1956.  The club then became ‘Lothian Athletics’, then ‘Musselburgh Athletic Club’ and is now ‘Musselburgh and District Athletic Club’.
