Adults

The senior’s club is made up of men and women of all ages and a broad cross-section of abilities, but with one thing in common – they all enjoy running in a relaxed, friendly environment. You won't be left behind by any group either with our ethos of first person run to the back if you're getting ahead!

Tuesday Training – with groups of runners setting off from Fisherrow Yacht Club at 7pm for gentle runs, rep sessions or longer runs of 5 miles and more. Changing facilities are available in the yacht club.

Wednesday evenings are when our JogScotland group meet. Meeting at Musselburgh Sports Centre at 6.45 for a walk run or a 3-4 mile gentle jog.

Saturday training is more advanced at Pinkie Primary School. This will be a rep session / cross country training.

Other training runs are organised by members through our members facebook page. These will vary but mostly on Sundays and are usually longer runs and quite often there are groups heading for the hills with the Pentlands and the Lammermuirs being the favourites.

Membership has been £25 for a number of years now and there's no intention of changing that anytime soon. So for less than 50p per week you can attend as many of the sessions above every week and there's no additional charge. You can join half-way through the year for half-yearly rates. And if all that's not enough you'll get-

  • A running club vest or tee-shirt when you first join.
  • Access to specialist coaching.
  • Discounts at specialist sports shops and FASIC sports injuries clinics.
  • Weekly newsletter.
  • Subsidised social events.
  • Food provided at the end of each month, after training on a Tuesday, when the Fisherrow Yacht Club bar is open and we have a social natter.
  • Paid entry fees for certain races.
  • Club Champion, handicap and volunteer annual trophies.
  • Access to local races run by other running clubs.

Please come and try first. We allow runners to join us for three sessions before we then ask them to join. Join Musselburgh and District Athletic Club.

We are a community club run by volunteers. We have an excellent committee, who cover a wide variety of subjects, and sub-committees dealing with specific areas like organising races or developing areas of the club, and a coaching network which continues to grow as the club does. A lot of that is key to our success. One thing we do ask of members is to help out where you can. There is always opportunities to join our committees and the one day we always need as much help as possible is to make our popular Festival race as successful as possible. We receive great feedback on our organisation and support provided to runners by our marshals.

For runners interested in competing in races we take part in local competitions alongside other running clubs and also travel further a field to take part in races.
